Three nonwoven products become RISE Durable Product Award finalists

The finalists have been selected for the prestigious third annual RISE Durable Product Award, which will be presented at the annual RISE Conference in Denver, Colorado USA. Three unique durable products were chosen for their innovative use of nonwovens. The finalists will make their product presentations at the fourth annual RISE Conference, organised by INDA, Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry and held from 30 September – 3 October at the Grand Hyatt in Denver, Colorado.

The finalists have been selected for the prestigious third annual RISE Durable Product Award, which will be presented at the annual RISE Conference in Denver, Colorado USA.

Three unique durable products were chosen for their innovative use of nonwovens. The finalists will make their product presentations at the fourth annual RISE Conference, organised by INDA, Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry and held from 30 September – 3 October at the Grand Hyatt in Denver, Colorado.

Finalists

Bonar, a leading European producer and supplier of technical fabrics, nonwovens and fibres, has made it to the final with its innovative Colback Profloor, a nonwoven backing that is said to improve the tuftability for carpet producers. Along with enhanced tuftability, Profloor has a greater stitch holding performance and is designed to provide improved carpet appearance.

Dell Seven and GMX, a manufacturer and supplier of waterproofing and dampproofing products, have produced a ThermalDrain, a patented synthetic protection board for below grade waterproofing that is an alternative to fiberglass. According to the manufacturer, ThermalDrain is durable with no skin irritation, easy to install, formaldehyde-free and has excellent drainage.

RIT International, a leading research institute, has developed an innovative technology platform for the lighting industry using nonwovens, NLITe Nanofiber Light Improvement Technology. According to the institute, this technology can be applied to any lighting fixture that creates 20% more light while using 0% more energy. NLITe is said to provide efficient light diffusion and improved glare resistance for overall better light quality.

RISE Durable Product Award

The recipient of the RISE Durable Product Award will be announced on 3 October, following the presentations of the products and after RISE attendees will have cast their vote.

Now in its fourth year, RISE connects technical innovations in engineered fabrics with practical product applications. It has rapidly developed into the premier conference for technical and marketing executives in the nonwoven/engineered fabrics industry who are charged with finding new applications, new technology and new ideas to help grow their businesses.
