Sioen Industries, a leading producer of technical textiles, fine chemicals and high-tech protective clothing, has acquired 100% of shares of Dimension-Polyant, a market leader in sailcloth manufacturing. It has been agreed that the acquisition, which was worth EUR 38 million, will take retroactive effect as of 1 January 2016.

Dimension-Polyant has a global footprint with two manufacturing facilities in Kempen, Germany, and Putnam, CT, US, and several sales offices in France, UK and Australia, geographically close to its customer base.

Complementary technologies

Dimension-Polyant, established in 1966, is a leader in sailcloth manufacturing with a global market share of more than 40%. Being a vertically integrated manufacturer (weaving, finishing and laminating), the company aims to deliver solid growth in its core business while continuing to expand in the field of diversified technical fabrics.

Sioen Industries and Dimension-Polyant have complementary technologies and will, by sharing the know-how, create future synergies, Sioen Industries reports.

Dimension-Polyant’s product lines

The technical fabric lines cover a wide range of outdoor sports and industrial products.
