Known for its forward-thinking technical mountain apparel, Strafe Outerwear has just announced the launch of its first down piece – the Palisade Down Insulator.
Created in partnership with supply chain partners Allied Feather, Bureo and Pertex, it is said to deliver on a commitment to sustainability and performance, providing exceptional warmth and lightweight comfort.
“With the Palisade Down Insulator, our intent was to blend innovative materials with a streamlined fit, creating a layering piece that works equally as well under a shell as it does on its own, offering superior durability, fit and warmth while also minimising its environmental impact,” said Pia Halloran, Strafe’s VP of product and design.
The Palisade Insulator is created from Bureo NetPlus recycled nylon made from discarded fishing nets collected from coastal communities around the world. These nets are cleaned, sorted and transformed into high-quality 100% post-consumer recycled nylon through a recycling process. NetPlus fibres have a fully transparent and third-party audited supply chain, ensuring traceability from net collection to product.
The jacket is also distinguished by a Pertex Diamond Fuse weave with a more stable and tightly bound fabric structure, significantly increasing resistance to abrasion and wear while maintaining a lightweight and highly packable profile.
At the heart of the Palisade is an 800-fill power goose down from Allied Feather, an RDS and GRS-certified down supplier.
The down is further treated with ExpeDRY technology from Fuze Technologies, leaveraging bonded gold particles that accelerate drying time and enhance moisture management while maintaining loft and performance.
The Palisade Down Insulator is also PFAS-free and will be available for purchase at strafeouterwear.com and select retailers in Autumn/Winter 2025-2026.
