Valdese Weavers, a US producer of decorative textiles for the residential and contract markets, has partnered with recycled cotton fibre producer Recover, headquartered in Madrid, Spain.

Valdese is a 100% employee-owned company and operates four facilities in Burke County, North Carolina, trading under the brand names Valdese Weavers, InsideOut Performance Fabrics, Sustain Performance Fabrics, Circa 1801, Valdese International Products (VIP) and Valdese Weavers.

It has more than 100 years of textile experience and works with a full range of furniture manufacturers, distributors and retailers.

By partnering with Recover, it will now offer fabrics made with RCS/GRS verified Recover recycled fibre.

Recover has perfected the art and science of scaled production of recycled cotton fibre over more than 75 years and its fibre enables significant environmental savings to be made compared to virgin and organic cotton. The integration of Recover fibre into Valdese fabrics  will accelerate the production of low-impact products such as sofas, cushions and curtains.

“We are proud to partner with Recover as a natural fibre platform for our customers searching for sustainable fabrics,” said Blake Millinor, president of Valdese Weavers.

“The textile industry needs new solutions and collaborations across its supply chain, which is why we are excited to expand our product to the upholstery and home textile segment,” added Recover CEO Alfredo Ferre. “Our expertise in producing low-impact, high-quality recycled fibres will help achieve our shared goals in minimising the impact on the natural resources we share.”
